Foilage Problem

| Hi! any tips would be much appreciated! My problem is my geraniums have great blooms all season; but the foilage doesn't fair as well. I tried pinching all buds I saw forming for a while in the early spring so the foilage could get strong, that helped some; but not as much as I had hoped. I see pictures with beautiful flowers and foilage and I wonder...How did they do that? Help! |

rommy: I'm assuming these are zonal geraniums--the ones with the big flower heads. How often do you water--fertilize? Zonal Geraniums don't like too much water.Water them thoroughly and then let them go dry before you water again. Fertilize with a balanced water soluable fertiliuzer every 2 weeks or so. If you have them in pots osmacote or a 4 month fertilizer takes the work out of fertilizing. love2garden4fun: Again I ask if these are zonal geraniums. It doesn't sound like they are because usually nothing eats their leaves. Whatever variety it is it sounds like earwigs. Check at night with a flashlight. You won't find earwigs in the daytime, because they feed at night |
