Perhaps an Ivy geranium?

I've been trying to find the perfect plants to hang on my deck. It gets morning and late afternoon sun and can get very hot under the overhanging canopy. I've tried fuchia - too hot, it went woody. I am currently growning lobelia but that seems to be dying as well. I was wondering about ivy geraniums. Regular geraniums have done well there in the past but I don't like cleaning up all the fallen petals on the deck. The actually stain the boards if not cleaned up right away. Any suggestions.

I'm not sure that ivy geraneums would tolerate the heat either. What about something like lantana; they are very sun, heat and drought tolerant.
