Rose scented geranium questions

My husband just surprised me with a rose scented geranium and I'm in love with its intoxicating smell.
I planted it in a pot with a layer of Styrofoam peanuts on the bottom and then used normal potting soil. I paired it up with 2 vinca vines. Then it occurred to me that I have no idea what these heavenly smelling things need.
Any advice how to keep it alive?

| Yes, I want to know too. I was given a mint-scented one, terribly pot-bound, the roots formed a dense mat. I re-potted in peat moss/sand 50/50, broke up some of the matted roots, and now am watching and waiting. Mine is outside to get am sun, pm shade, humid warmth. |
