does anybody have 'The Genus Geranium and Pelargonium' book

Hi,

Does anybody here own a copy of CRC Press' 'The Genus Geranium and Pelargonium.' It is in a series of "industry profile" books mostly on medicinal plants and wouldn't be something most gardeners would want, but I'm hoping a collector here might have it as I want to know if a few things are mentioned in it. I have their books on Zingiber officinale and also the one on Elettaria cardamomum. They are very expensive so I'd hate to buy it and not find what I need. Any help would be appreciated.

You do not give many details about yourself or interests but I would have thought that your local library might have, or be able to obtain, this book for you. If you have a local botanic garden or horticultural society they may well be able to help

My interest is in the zingiberaceae as ornamentals mostly. I am trying to track down a phytochemical that is supposed to be present in a particular pelargonium but there aren't any references on it (easily found that is). I did manage to track down one of the authors though, after posting this.

as for local libraries.. nope. We have one (in a town of 3000 or so people) and it doesn't have anything like this series of industry profiles. I had checked with the LSU (louisiana state university) library and they didn't have it as well.. and that was the best bet for this area.

Possibly the national agricultural library can help you. They may have the book, and you should be able to email a librarian with this question - and/ or get the answer to what you really want to know about the phytochemical.

Here is a link that might be useful: National Agricultural library
