Species Pelargoniums

I have been given a species pelargonium(Tetragonus)that I would like to take cuttings from. Are there any differences between taking cuttings from this plant and 'ordinary' pelargoniums?

I have tried taking cuttings from Pelargonium tetragonum and have failed every time. It is a stunning plant. Below is a link to a photo of it's flower
