Susan G Komen Geranium?

In the spring I bought a pink geranium from Lowes. The container and tag said it was being sold to benefit the Susan G Komen's Breast Cancer fund. I have no idea what do with it for winter. I don't even know what kind it is. Is it a perrenial or annual? Should I take it in for the winter, cut it down to the dirt? It has bloomed beautifully all summer and still is actually. Any ideas?

RE: Susan G Komen Geranium?

I am fairly sure that the plant you have is a Pelargonium, also, wrongly, called Geranium. Pellies are half-hardy perennials. Before the first frosts, lift and pot the plant and place it in a well lit frost free position. It might be a good idea to spray the plant against insect pests and fungi. Do not overwater the plant and it should be fine for replanting next Spring.
