I have a choice of different mediums:
compressed coir, standard potting soil, compressed peat pellets ("Jiffy" for instance), and rock-wool cubes (Two sizes).

I had good results with cuttings in coir, because the mix is sterile and the product can be stored for quite a while in its dry form. The medium, however, is nutrient-poor and I repot or begin feeding. I find-out that compressed pellets or rock-wool cubes are easier to handle as they don't crumble while repotting.

What about other make-ups, such as perlite, mica and sand? (I have access to sand from hardware store)
