Who else has pelargonium withdrawl?

I need a fix. My cuttings haven't taken off yet indoors, but everything outside is about done. I need some blooms to groom! Anyone else going through withdrawl?

Fortunately, I have a solarium in which I'm able to grow my geraniums year round. No matter the outside conditions, I have flowers and foliage to enjoy! These plants never cease to put on a show and even in the dead of winter are totally blooming their heads off! I've gotten to the point of needing to cut back and curb my ever expanding collection ... yet another plant addiction!

OOoh Terry, that sounds wonderful! we have a 'sort of' sunroom, that stays just above freezing, so I bring some pellies in there, along with our three pet rabbits (so we don't have to go outside to take care of them, and we can play with them more easily.) We were intending to one day turn that room into a family room, but I'm thinking I'll try to convinve DH to just make it a proper solarium. He likes having the bunnies in there too. :-)

My pellies were so badly infested with rust this year, that I'm pretty much starting over. Next year, hopefully, better sanitary methods, less rain, maybe I'll be able to overwinter more pellies.

Cantstopgardening, indeed a cool sunroom/greenhouse is an excellent place in which to overwinter geraniums ... and lots of other tender stuff! My solarium is filled with all sorts of potted plants ... from geraniums to camellias and oleanders etc. I most enjoy the solarium during the late winter months as the days grow longer and plants burst forth into growth. Unfortunately, I can't seem so say no to acquiring yet more and more plants and often don't have the time nor space to tend all!

Good luck with your pellies!

I do! I do! I live in Southern Oregon and can't wait to go shopping through the nurseries. I am wintering several geraniums in my office and I love each and every one, but there is just something about seeing all those lovely red heads and dark green leaves in the green house! Unfortunately I'll have to wait till May :0(
