curbside collecting!

Last week I "curbside collected" an ivy geranium in a hanging basket that someone was just going to throw away. When I first did the collecting, I figured I'd get a free plastic hanging basket. Yay me! However, after reading some of the overwintering threads, I'm going to leave it down in the basement (my garage is separate from the house and gets freezing cold) and hope that it survives.. double Yay me!!

GW is awesome!!

I have kept ivy geranium alive and blooming all winter in a sunny window. They are not really an annual....will live and bloom for years.

What a wonderful way to get some lovely plants. If I had more room, I would have been able to get some that way as well. But I knew I wouldn't be able to give up anymore space inside. Drat!

Best of luck with your new plant.
