black-flowered geranium

Hello,

I live in S. California and visit a park where a dark magenta/purple(almost black) flowering geranium grew. The leaves were very spiky (ragged-edged), green in color with some chocolate. I have never seen another geranium like it.

Unfortunately, the fires last month destroyed the geranium plant and all the other trees and plants along the trail. I would love to plant another of these geraniums in the spot but haven't been able to track down the name of the particular plant.

I would appreciate any thoughts on what type of geranium it might have been.

Thanks so much!

There is an Ivy leaf geranium with a dark flower called 'Black Magic'. I put in a link for you to check out.

There is a Regal geranium variety called Solstice Chocolate that is very dark magenta color and Regals have that serrated edge to the leaf that you talk about.
