Looking for Ivy leaf...

Posted by blueflint z6a OH (My Page) on

Where can I get a fairly small supply of Ivy Leaf Geranium cuttings or rooted cuttings? I would buy as many as 50, cutting type, no seed ivy leaf type (want bigger blooms than seed ivy leaf has). Any ideas?

Thanks, Blueflint

Some seed companies sell plant plugs with Ivy leafed geraniums, but you pay almost as much as buyimg the plants from a nursery in the spring.

You can overwinter them inside and take cuttings in the spring. This is what I do. Not much help for this year, but good for another year

What I have found is I need to buy 100 or more liners (rooted cuttings) from wholesale growers but we really can't use that many. I use to over winter some very nice ivy leaf types until last winter when we lost our power and they froze out in the nursery. I do overwinter a couple fancy leaf types for our own use. I am looking for a small wholesale grower or "expanded" hobby grower that I can buy 2 to 4 dozen from. Any ideas?

Are you looking for 50 of DIFFERENT varieties, or 50 of the same?

Not 50 different types, but would like 2 to 4 different varieties or colors, 25 to 50 total.
