WANTED: your help in picking a great strep for my mom!

Hey, all!

I'm a strep imbecile, and my mom loves them! I'd like to get her a couple as part of her birthday present...i think she'd really like one that has a fragrance, as most (all?) of her collection does not! :) Any advice on what is hot in the strep world would be great! Thanks in advance for your time!

These are scented streptocarpus:
King of Kings
Kahori
It Makes Scents
Heaven Scent
Kiwi Friendship

Finding them may be a harder project. Good luck!

Chiming in w/Nancy--good luck on finding, and buying a scented strep! Maybe on an auction......

From my experience, Dibley's are phenomenal streps, especially "Falling Stars."

What a lucky Mother you have!

There are 2 very lovely dark red streps. Texas Hot Chili and Popsickle. Also , Doo Dah purplish red with large blooms( Bristol) Popsickle is also Bristol>> Ralph Robinson<< Have King of Kings. Did not know it was a scented Strep. Also like Heidi>> from the hybridizer in northern ohio. Also like Night Shadows>> Bristol>> it is very dark purple with a white edge. Good Luck. I am sure your mother will love anything you choose. What does she have?

Heidi is hybridized by Dibley in Wales if it is the same, ie., blue with purple markings.

Isn't there a Rob's strep called Mom's Strep. That might be unique!

I was wrong Heidi is Dibley as robitaillenancy said. The one I was thinking of > by Ford> is Scottish Mist.

You've already had comments on the fragrant streps. Other new developments in streps.

Everblooming streps. Crystal Ice is touted as being the first everbloomer. It is still hard to find on this side of the ocean. But some of the Bristol's come very close to everblooming. My Bristol X-Ray Vision pauses for a few days every couple of months before putting out a whole new batch of blooms.

Variegated streps. Variegated flowers are more readily available at reasonable prices. I only have Bristol's Party Girl so I can't comment on what is best. Canterbury Surprise is the first variegated foliage strep.
