Has anybody seen this problem with streptocarpus cuttings?

A friend gave me a leaf from her streptocarpus plant this summer. As I only wanted one plant, I decided to root the base of the leaf instead of laying that leaf down flat on the soil, as is more commonly done. Although the leaf rooted, it made this white plant. Now slightly tinged with green, it doesn't seem to be getting much darker. Has anyone seen this problem? If so, can you tell me what causes it and whether or not the plant likely will survive? Thanks!
