Chiritas and Streps actually like slightly alkaline soil. Petrocosmeas do OK too. Since you are in minis...streps are mostly large and very large. But pets and small chiritas will be right for you.

Oh, and you've probably considered ph-lowering products already? They are sold under ingenious names such as "pH down"?

Yikes! Sorry for the long delay; I claim illnes (but really I forgot about the post). Thanks Irina and Komi; I've been using white vinegar, even though it breaks down quickly. At least it's cheap and safe.

Annoyingly, my AVs are *still* tight in the centers; my Opt. EverSpecial is crispy as -- as something really crispy. It's one of two that are in soil, as the others are in semi-hydro. I left it on my desk, in office light only, for a week, so it's *not* too much light.

Grr! Argh!
