Spin Art is hardly an older variety. I would think it is about 2005 - 2007.

And yes - growing Streps in Arizona heat is a challenge.

Try this - find a bigger unglazed clay pot, get sphagnum moss - and wrap the outside of a strep pot with it. Stick it in a clay pot and wet the sphagnum. 2 benefits - raises the ambient humidity around the plant - and evaporation through the porous clay surface cools the roots down.
They do not look good in summer in CO too - but comes the fall - they recover.
