Okay, I confess, this is my favorite mail order nursery. So who can blame me for ordering all these columnea? :-)

Once, again, fast shipment, large, well-rooted plants, well-packed and in great shape; some are even in bud.

This is one consistent nursery. With others, I've gotten one cutting in a pot; with Lyon, I get three . . . and for near the same price!

This is also the only nursery from which I've gotten Light Prince and had it survive and bloom.

Here's my list (luckily I took on a second magazine so this is my "mad money"). BTW, I'm replacing some of my collection that I sold and forgot to take cuttings. Unpacking these plants is more fun, anyhow. ;-)

Julia, Aladdin's Lamp, Firebird, Midnight Lantern, Apollo, Alpha, Chocolate Soldier, Dragon Fire, Inferno, Midget, Sundancer, Sylvia, Top Brass, Starburst and, yes, more Light Prince (just to see if my success was a fluke).

Oh, at my request, my "free" plants were duplicates of some of the ones I ordered so I could fill the pots. Can't beat that for customer service.

How fun, I just love opening a box. I was thinking about putting in an order tonight, and even some of the ones you got. I guess it was meant to be :)

Is it possible to post a pic?

Hi, Sandi:

I can't find my camera!!! It's buried in my office somewhere. When I find it, I'll take some photos.

If you haven't order from Lyndon Lyon Greenhouses, you're in for a treat. If you order after October 1 (I think) and before May 1 you get a free plant for every five you order. I don't know what the May or June specials are.

I've gotten plants or cuttings from Lauray of Salisbury, The Violet Barn and Pat's Pets but nothing compares to the ones I get from Paul Sorano/Lyndon Lyon (except for a couple of really great eBay sellers). Next Spring I'm going to order Streps.

Have fun!

Wow, Linda! Sounds like you ordered ALL of their varieties. LOL I, too, like Lyndon Lyon. Nice haul. Can't wait to see pics of your blooms!

I agree - they have VERY high quality plants, and they're packed well enough to survive the shipper playing football with your order, LOL!

My club made a big (wholesale >$400) order for our annual show and sale last year, and LLG's plants arrived in terrific shape. Another vendor's plants were not in such good shape after the journey, plus only had one cutting per pot. Guess which ones sold better, and from whom we're going to increase our order this year? LLG for sure!

Glad you had a good time unwrapping your new treasures!
