| I was on Ebay trying to find some Streps that I found interesting, but figured I would try and find some mail-order sources - but don't want STARTER PLANTS which are usually very small.
Can anyone recommend a good source for Streps that have bigger plants ? Thanks |

| Violet Barn is good, but plants are probably smaller than you want. They have many varieties though and some of the ones I've ordered come with a flower bud although they are still young. |

| David Thompson sells strong young streps on ebay. His nik is plant_maniac. And I love his hybrids. Violet Barn usually sends smaller plants - but - it is a place to get newest varieties from a hybridizer - and I love Rob's hybrids too - they are different. IMHO - who cares if the plant is small if it is strong enough. They grow fast, they get adjusted to your home environment better if they are young - and how long is the life of this plant - in a year and half - you need to disassemble, divide and repot it anyway - otherwise they just do not bloom that well. Good Luck - and good strep blooming for you. Irina |

| You could try Lyndon Lyon. I've never ordered streps from them, but the episcias I ordered were larger than I expected them to be, and I hear their plants in general tend to be larger than those from Violet Barn. |
|
| I always try to get smaller plants - cheaper if you get them from the sales table, less chances for bugs, less damage on a way home. And again - if there is a variety I am dying to get - half of the leaf is great. I. |

| I know several people that I would recommend. On eBay David Thompson plant_ maniac, Dennis Miller neil's_Streps. Dennis has his own site neilsstreps.com. Kathystrep, Vmeevmee and Linda Rowe Bloominjungle. Linda has her own forum Bloominjunglegrowingfun@yahoo.com. She also sells off eBay. You can request to be put on her mailing list by contacting her @ Bloominjungle@Frontiernet.net. Also The Violet Barn as Rob's varieties are well known for their abundant blooming capabilities. I have bought from all of these vendors personally with regularity and have always been pleased. Dave |

| I forgot to add about Dennis, on his website he has an inventory reduction sale going on for $3/plant. It is his choice but if you are not fussy about what variety you get (mostly Neil's) they are usually good size plants in bud. Dave |

| Thanks, Dave and Irina for your help and recommendations. I actually ended up going to Violet Barn and ordering. I do have one Strep that I recently received from Ebay and will be getting 2 more from Kathystrep. The one Strep I have now unfortunately was left in the morning sun and when I got home was TOTALLY WILTED. Yikes! Have I killed my first Strep !!!!! |

| Patrick -= spray your wilted strep. You can apply wet paper napkins to the leaves. Just do not overwater the roots. Barely humid roots - and high humidity for the top will work. Kathy Spissman's plants are usually on a small side. Dennis Miller (Neil's..) has some gorgeous fantasy hybrids. People who do order a lot of plants sometimes rent a maibox at the post office - so they plants are not exposed to the heat in a curbside mailbox. A friend of mine has good relations with his Post office people - and he asks to hold a box for him and not put it out when he knows that it is coming. That's the advantage of living in a small town, you do know everybody. Irina |
