The longer you wait the larger the tuber will be and when it is planted it will grow faster from a larger tuber.

I did this once and got a small tuber which I planted. It got lost among the violets and I must have dumped it.

Wait and see just how large the tuber will get.

Gloxinias are really easy to propagate from leaves, stem cuttings and seed. I would go ahead and pot them up, using an AV type mix or a mix of perlite and vermiculite as a temporary mix. One way to give them good potted conditions while they grow up is to put them together in a wide low community pot, such as a plastic six inch bulb pan, or a 4 inch pot. Then they will continue to grow, from the strength of the mother leaf. Later, when this leaf dies off, and they eventually sprout shoots from the tuber, you can pot them up individually in 3" pots. If you grow them under lights make sure they get a lot of light--more than for AV's, In a window sill give them bright indirect light or some mild sun, such as an east window. From leaf cutting to flower can take as little as 9 months, more or less. From seed, a glox (Sinningia speciosa) can flower in as little as six months. When your bigger tubers sprout, it is a good idea to remove all but the strongest shoot. We tend to call these shoots "crowns". So, when you see that term, it generally means a shoot from a tuber or a rosette on an AV. The young shoots, when they make a bit of stem can be rooted to make tubers and continue to grow on to flowering.
