lyndon lyons = small plants?

| I just received my order of gessies from Lyndon Lyons and was a little surprised. The plants are very small, barely rooted in two inch pots. The quality and health of the plants are great, but I paid $5.50-$6.50 for each two-inch pot! Is this normal? I know at Bluebird Greenhouse I got 4 inch pots for a lot less money.....
I'm wondering if I should call to complain, or if this is what is to be expected from this nusery. :( |

| Hi, Shiver: I have ordered several times from Lyon and never had a problem. Always got large, well-rooted plants. That being said, I am sure Paul would appreciate knowing of your dissatisfaction. He is a really nice man and bends over backwards to make sure you order is right. Linda |

| Shiver - the smaller the plants - the easier they will adjust to your conditions. So there is a good size silver lining in it. I would put them on a tray and cover with a humidity dome for a couple of weeks - it is your isolation routine, it helps them recover after the shipping - and root faster. In a long run it really doesn't matter if they are juvenile. I would say for me it will take a month and half to get from the babies to the starters. Let's say - the supplier ran out of 1,5 months starters, sent you 3 week starters. I presume that he will better send you these now, than wait till the frost. Cheers irina |
