Gloxinia drooping?!?

I have a florist gloxinia that is blooming for the second time in the last 3 or 4 months and is doing pretty well. All the blooms are opening to big beautiful flowers, but the stems are so weak that it's getting top heavy. Is this normal, or is it because this is the second bloom of this year (I know they need a resting period)? What can I do to strengthen the stems? I haven't fertilized it since I've had it, so could that be the possible cause? I've looked all over the internet and can't find anything about this problem, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
