The next meeting of the National Capital Area Chapter of the American Gloxinia and Gesneriad Society (NCAC/AGGS) is Saturday, Sept. 18 at the United States National Arboretum in Washington, DC. There will be a short business meeting at 10:30 followed at 11:00 by a lecture that is open to the public. All are invited, and parking and admission are free.

The speaker will be John L. Clark, who spent two years collecting plants in Ecuador while in the Peace Corps, and is now studying relationships in the Gesneriaceae for his Ph.D. at George Washington University in Washington, DC.

John is a great speaker and a fantastic photographer. His presentation will show many odd and unusual gesneriads and how they grow in the wild.
