Hello,
are there any Mail-order sources for Streptocarpus PLANTS?
Not leaves, but real, potted up plants?
If anyone knows of any nurseries selling streptocarpus plants, please let me know.
Thank you.

| Hi Patrick, Here are a few places I know of where to buy Streptocarpus: Rob’s violets at http://www.robsviolet.com/ Pat’s pets at http://www.jcn1.com/patspets/ Lyndon Lyons at http://www.lyndonlyon.com/index.html Also, Ebay has a lot of Streptocarpus plants for sale. I have bought some recently and had really good luck. Good luck and have fun, Larry |

| The "Rob's Violet" place is a great place to order streps. I ordered some, and they came in perfect condition (such cute little things!). Packing was very very good...nice place to do business with. I'm just a beginner in this strep stuff, and I can see how you get hooked on it. I'm already thinking maybe we need a bigger house!!! ;-) |

| I've also been really pleased with Streps from Rob's Violets. Have to look at the other places recommended by Larry. Thanks for recommending. |

I have ordered streptocarpuses at a nursery in Connecticut called Logee's Greenhouses. They have a variety of plants and have been around for several generations. Here is their website: www.logees.com Good luck! |

| Violet Barn mostly carries Bristol's - Rob's hybrids. So if you want to get something different - you need to shop around. Irina |

| Best Streps anywhere is on Ebay. User name Plant maniac he is from IOWA. (David Thompson) the plants are huge and doesn't rip you on postage. |

| Do not forget that he is the HYBRIDIZER of most of these streps. Without him - we wouldn't have these bright, festive, gorgeous blooming plants. He made the breakthrough from pretty plants to spectacular. I. |

I am waiting on 3 Streps from plant_maniac. I ordered Spin Art, Batik and Helter Skelter. If I remember right these are all his own crosses. All 3 I ordered are fantasy types with different color or shades of streaks than the base color. Now that I hear he sends good plants I can't wait till they arrive! They are suppose to all be in bloom! He did email and say because of weather he would have to wait till next week before he ships out. So maybe the blooms will be spent by then. :-( Happy growing!,,,,Debbie |

| Debbie - he grows strong thick leaved plants - and even if the flowers are spent - you will get new ones in a hurry. As far as I remember his soil mix is for bottom watering and very soon you need to repot them - they grow so fast. You will love them. irina |

| I got my order from plant_maniac from Ebay! All 3 were in bloom and looked very fresh and healthy. He has an excellent shipping method so they don't bounce around in the box. I'm very happy indeed with what I received! Irina I've never grown a Strep. but the flowers are so beautiful I had to try just one,,,oops I ordered 3 didn't I? hehehe.,,,,Debbie |

| Ohhh,,,I hope yours come in bloom too Theresa so you can see the beauty!!,,,Debbie |

| Debbie - the main difference between the AVs and streps - streps need less water and more air at their roots. So not water them until the pot is light and when repotting - add coarse perlite to the mix. I wick everything but streps. Streps are in the trays I add water every so often when thy become quite dry. Do not wait until the leaves start to seriously droop - but water them just before it. Good Luck and post your pics!
