No smell from scented strep...

My scented streptocarpus has NO smell! It has three large blooms and more to come...but no smell. Does the plant have to be a certain age before becoming scented? It is King of Kings that I have. I keep smelling and smelling but nothing so far. I keep hoping!

have you tried smelling at different times of day? some plants smell while there's sunlight, or only in the morning, etc. I don't know if streps have these kinds of traits, but often we tend to do the plant rounds at the same time each day, and as a result don't notice what they are doing at other times.

Some have scent at night--or 3AM. Check at that time.

I have King of Kings too and at the beginning I had the same feeling like you - it has no scent.
But you will soon find it - it has pleasant scent at different times of the day and it seems it is getting stronger in the afternoon - for me. You will like it. It seems to me also that now after few blooms it is stronger than it was when I freshly got it.
It is indeed wonderful to have smelling gesneriad...kinda different. :-)
Good day with fragrance!

I have a king of kings that is currently blooming but also no scent. I know that there are other scented streps. Does anyone know if they really produce a scent? What do they smell like?

I have Bristols Sixth Scents but have never noticed a scent either : ( I am definitely going to be checking at different times of the day to see if I can catch a whiff : )
