Feeding White Sprite

Hi,

I am growing some sinningia White Sprite and I have a question about fertilizing. The first set of leaves on the White Sprite seemed to be becoming less green. The third and fourth leaves are much greener than the first two leaves. I have been told that micro mini sinningias do not need to be fertilized, but I was wondering if a foliar feeding would be a good idea in this case.

I don't know if it would help or not. I can say that I fed (not foliar) some very dilute seaweed fert. to some micro mini sinns with no negative effects. I didn't keep a control batch so I don't know if it helped anything. I have not tried any ironite on gesneriads either.

Larry, I have my Sinn. Rio das Pedras in a little flat sample container with a seine cord wick. I fit the "pot" into a little jar just larger than a baby food jar as a reservoir. My plant tells me it's happy and is nearly always in bloom. I use 1/8 tsp per gallon of whatever I happen to be fertilizing my other plants with at the time.

Betty
