my god! how would they work? =\ would the layers in the onion be like really really thick in comparison to a regular onion or would it just be like an overgrown mass of onion layers?

Thompson and morgan have a lot of the giant seeds similar to Bernard Lavery's strains the largest are around 6 pounds I think people in England grow some leeks that are huge !100 pounds or more .I have never had luck with onions.

RE: giant onions

I grew a huge "Walla Walla a couple of years ago. I don't recall how much it weighed but I do know it was bigger than any I've ever seen. If I can figure-out where I put the picture of it I'll post it.

Chris,
Bernard is no longer in the seed business. He sent me a letter saying he hasn't the time to run the seed club anymore or produce the seeds needed. At least for now. Take er easy Ruedee.

I recieved his letter just last fall. His death is news to me?
I know he had a heart attack some years back and that was the begining of the end of the seed business. Can anyone out there confirm this bad news? I hope it aint so!! Ruedee.
