Hi,

I'm looking to meet anyone who grows giant sunflowers, and possibly trade some seeds. I have a web page about growing giant sunflowers at http://www.geocities.com/sunfower_info/

Here is a link that might be useful: 15+ foot tall sunflower

Typo in the link, it's sunflower_info, not sunfower_info.

I'm just getting into giant sunflowers. I have a row of Russian Mammoth growing in my vegetable garden. (Would you believe I planted seeds from 2001 and I had about 95% germination?) Any growing tips you care to share would be greatly appreciated.

Count me in! I looked at your site, and that's where I found the giant seeds from Vivaverde (Just in time, too, because they shut down at the end of April).

I also got some seeds from PandPseed.com and from Ripleys. I have extra Ripley's if anyone wants to trade.

I'm trialing the VidaVerde and Ripley's Believe It or Not seeds for the first time this coming spring. I have hopes that the VidaVerde seeds will live up to their billing. If they do, then I plan on attempting a cross between those and the Craven variety. Out of all the varieties that I've grown or have seen other people grow, the Craven seeds seem to have the best chance of breaking the current world record for height. Actually, I was told from someone who knows Norm Craven that his sunflowers are the Heijms world record sunflower crossed with large grey stripe variety, and a large black shell variety from Ontario.
