It was the Kongs!

I thought my problem with leaf curling was my soil or my fungicide. But I realized today that the curling of leaves was happening only to the Kong Sunflowers - no matter where I'd put them. The Ripley's, Vivas, and P&P seeds are happily growing in the same conditions with no leaf curl. When I realized the connection, I removed the Kongs and replaced them with the alternate seedlings I had growing on the sidelines.

Anyone else have a problem with their Kongs? I got my seeds from Meijer - the regular NIK packets. I thought something might be up when I pulled them out for the first time - they had brown spots on them. Maybe I got a bad batch.

Sounds like you got some diseased seeds. I grow Kongs every year since their intro and have never had your problem. I can't remember who I orignally got my seeds from but it was one of the old seed houses online.
