First-time poster here - glad i found you guys.
My family and I have been running a small garden for several years now, but we've never had anything like this before. We think it must've come from the compost, but we don't recall putting in any pumpkin/squash seeds in the past year. The plant started off as several stems shooting off in every direction, with large, three-pointed leaves. Now, it is a huge vine growing over our fence, with these small (but growing) round pumpkin-like fruit. The flowers are pointed and yellow, and the bees love to just sit in them all day long. I hope you guys can identify from the picture whether this is pumpkin or squash, and will I need to support the fruit with stockings or something once they begin getting big, or will the tendrils be enough to support it?
Thanks for all your help,
Jordan |
