Giant Basil

| For those who like to eat giant plants, as well as grow them, I would recommend basil. There are several lettuce leaf types which will produce leaves 4-6 inches long and up to 4 inches wide. These plants make it easy to get enough basil for a good batch of pesto, or to wrap up food in basil for baking. Folks who see our large basil leaves and plants are always commenting on them.

| Johnny's sells a couple of the lettuce leaf varieties, as does Pinetree. With no effort, you will be getting leaves that are 4-6 inches long. If you give the plant lots of room, fertilizer and water, the leaves will be bigger. |

| growitalian.com sells a great-tasting variety called Napoletano which has better flavor than any other lettuce leaf's I've tried. |
