seeds from giant pumkins

Does it make any difference to the pumpkins produced, if you only select seeds from the biggest giants of the same variety as I often see seeds from suppliers in the U.S.A sold at different prices per weight of pumpkin of the same variety.

RE: seeds from giant pumkins

Its the genetics that matter...a 1000 pound pumpkin will not always throw a 1000 pound pumpkin. It has a lot to do with soil preparation, sunlight, average temperature, and about 25% luck. Seeds are available from most growers for the caost of 2 1st class postage stamps and a bubble pack.
