Hi,hope someone can help me. I've gone over all the propagating searches.A friend without a greenhouse has been given a few different tropical ginger rhizomes. I think he means hedichium. I offered to try to start them in my greenhouse. Have done it before with ones brought back from hawaii with complete success. As they are not mine I'm very nervous of making a mistake. I have planted them 2-3 inches deep and plan on putting them on my heater table. The question I have is do they want the grow lights on as well?If so for how many hours as this greenhouse does not get overhead light from outside? Funny how nervous I am with someone elses plants. thanks for any help

Once they send up new growth, yes they will need light.
