pot size?

If I grow grocery store ginger (or tumeric) in a pot so I can move it around. . . how big of a pot?

I've seen some pretty big roots at the grocery store, but if the pot is too big, I won't be able to move it.

All suggestions and advice welcome. Thank you.

I would think a pot a few inches larger than the size of the rhizome you are planting should be fine you could also cut the rhizome into several sections and so use smaller pots but a full pot of this ginger is nice. And you would want to dig it out at least once a year divide use what you want and replant part to start again.James
