Curcuma Aurintiaca

Recently purchased bulbs (?) of this plant at a flower show from a QVC salesperson. I just opened the plastic bag that they came in, and instead of 6 separate bulbs, I found 10 marble sized bulbs attached together. When planting, do I detach or plant them all together?

I would plant them as one. Separating them could stall blooms for a year. In my experience, the larger the root mass, the better chance for blooms.

Many curcumas have round storage tubers attached by "arms" to the main rhizome. These provide food for the plant, but do not have a growing point and will not produce a plant if broken off. I don't remember seeing these on C. aurantiaca, but I'd leave them attached anyway.
