| What variety is the photo on the website.. I always think it is so beautiful but do not know wht it is. Everytime I open the site ginger it just catches my eye. |

Hi Joan- It is an alpinia purpurata red (sometimes called cone gingers or Hawaiian ginger). It is possible it is some variety of this - like from the Kimi series, but someone else with more knowledge on that will have to add their input.- Gwenn |

| I'm with Gwenn, it's one of the interspecific Alpinia purpurata hybrids (2 different forms of the same species crossed). Could either be one of the Kimi series (Hawaii) or one of the Darwin series (Australia). Sorry I can't tell you which one, there's a whole slew of them and the differences are pretty subtle, but they're all more rounded in form than the standard Red Ginger, and have varying degrees of two-tonedness (if that's a word). |
