hello
i recently recieved a bare root alpina, with 3 stalks. The stalks have begun to grow leafves over the past few weeks but i was wondering when will new stalks appear? Also, little nubs have formed along the the tops of the stalks, are these flowers?

RE: alpina question

Ryan- The little nubs on the rhizomes will be new stalks- it takes a little time, but the will appear- be patient!
Now for the flowers- be really patient! They appear at the end of the leaf stalks- but it usually takes at least a year. Depending on the variety, it may not flower until the 2nd year. Best of luck- Gwenn
