Problem Growing Ginger Lilies

Posted by flowergurl107 9 (My Page) on

I decided to try growing some ginger lilies from rhizomes in pots. (Hopefully to add to my fragrant patio garden).

I bought three from ebay and planted them in organic potting soil about 6-7 weeks ago. I've planted the bulbs near the top, watered regularly, put all pots in full sun to stimulate growth. All that waiting and not even a sprout!

Is there something that I'm missing? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd lay off the watering until you see some signs of growth. All of my Curcuma are in the ground and have emerged from winter dormancy. You don't need to water until there is growth.

Do you know the variety of ginger you are growing. The term ginger lily is used for many types of ginger.
