Fertilizing ginger

I am new to gingers and was wondering how often gingers should be fertilized and with what formula?

Also, I'd like to thank everyone for the great advice you give. I've learned a lot from this forum. And thanks to you I planted my rhizome 1/2" below the soil surface, instead of the 6" deep like the package it was in recommended.

RE: Fertilizing ginger

I fertilize mine weekly during the growing season with whatever I have on hand, 15-30-15, 20-20-20, or 10-50-10. This goes for all kinds, all species.
