Hello,
I have some Butterfly Ginger growing in the backyard and my hubby thinks its the same as in the grocery store, he's from Oklahoma and not too smart but we have a bet on if it's toxic or not.

Help me win this bet. Can we eat it or will we get sick and die???

Thanks for any help..

Bren

Thanks for writing and I am a hoot sometimes lol..

My dear hubby thinks he knows every darn thing about everything and I knew he didn't know if they were the same ginger or not so I thought I would come to the ginger experts but your the only one who answered me.

I finally researched it and now I know it's not the kind you eat or it might make your tummy hurt a bit so I am taking it off the menu.....unless he really makes me mad in the near future......(Just Kidding!!)

Thanks again, Bren

Bren,
Forget the research! Hysterically LOL Just let him eat it and see what happens! :)

And actually, the kind of ginger you buy in the store is a known folk remedy for a tummy ache so if the garden variety does upset his tummy...
