Just back from Jamaica

I just returned from a cruise that took us to Mayfield Falls in Jamaica. It was a plant lovers overdose for me. The Gingers growing wild up the mountain was impossible to describe.There was one particular Ginger...it looked like the flowers were a flame. Our guide grabbed a root for me, but I was so scared about bringing something with me that I tossed it on the side of the rode. I do not know import laws but the boat crew terrified me about bringing anything back, I decided I better not...

Can anyone help me find that?

What color was it?
