My pinecone ginger are up and growing good. Good green leaves on them. Do I need to fertlize them,if so with what,so they will make the pinecones. How long before the pinecones start to grow. It took forever for the plants to come up.

Gingers' sprouting time depends on soil temp. Can't remember the exact number and it probably varies for different species. Maybe Tim will jump in with the number.

I didn't fertilize mine at all to get the inflos (see my post about "Pinecones Flowering").
