| I am new to this forum but I have ginger collection. I had this purple leaf ginger for years but last fall it lost all its leaves. In spring I planted the rhizomes in pots but they all rotted.What did i do wrong. Most of my collections are in pots 'cause I am afraid they might die during cold weather. The only ones in the ground are white butterfly and elizabeth. I appreciate any input. Happy gardening.!! Bellie |

That's a fussy one. I have ones in pots doing the same thing here in Florida. We've had a dry summer and it doesn't like it. They do like humidity and warmth. Sometimes you have to pot things up and just about turn them on their sides to prevent the soil getting too wet from rain/sprinklers. Especially so if the weather, temps. are cool. kevin |
