I recently saw a curcuma with beautiful red stems and medium green leaves. I didn't see the flower. Does anyone know what kind it was? Sorry, I have no more info nor photo! Thanks.

Anna

Could it be Curcuma Scarlet Fever?

Here is a link that might be useful: Scarlet Fever Curcuma

did the leaves also have a red mid rib? It could have been curcuma ornata or Scarlet Fever. I have a domestica brought back from Jamaica that has a red stem like scarlet Fever but the leaves are totally green.

Scarlet Fever is a winter/spring bloomer. It blooms before the leaves come out. All of mine bloomed in March. The inflo is nothing special, medium pink, looks like many other curcuma inflos. The stems/leaves are the main attraction for this plant

Tropicais, it is scarlet fever, thank-you! Yes, the midribs on the leaves were red. I did not see the flower. Thank-you all.

Tim is the best source for this plant at gingerwoodnursery.com , he had it first as far as I can remember and his stock gets huge fast.
