I have been collecting plumeria for many years. I just got hooked on gingers, and have compiled a list of those gingers I would like to acquire in trade for plumeria. I have a few hundred different cultivar of plumeria, so hopefully I can find a like minded ginger addict and we can both benefit.

I am looking for:

Alpinia japonica
Alpinia purpurata "Razeberry Delight"
Alpinia pururata "Red Dwarf"
Alpinia purpurata "White Veil"
Costus curvibracteatus "Green Mountain"
Costus "Red Rose"
Curcuma Cordata
Curcuma Petiolata
Curcuma "Scarlet Fever"
Etlingera Correrii "Siam Rose"
Etlingera elatior "Thai Queen"
Hedychium "Betty Ho"
Hedychium coccineum "Orange Bottlebrush"
Hedychium densiflorum
Hedychium "Dr. Moy"
Hedycium "Elizabeth"
Hedychium hybrid "Palani"
Hedychium raffilii
Hedychium hybrid "Tac Moto"
Hedychium "Thai Spirit"
Hedychium "Tropic Bird"
Hedychium "White Starburst"
Zingiber sp. "Milky Way"
Zingiber collinsii "Silver Streaks"
Zingiber zerumbet "Hainan Pink"

RE: Trade plumeria for gingers

I can't tell what part of CA you live in but if you are in the LA area, your list of gingers contains a few that won't make it there in the ground. They may grow but will never bloom and eventually, they will dwindle away. Those would be the Alpinia Purpuratas, the Curcumas, the Etlingeras, and probably the Zingibers. Alpinia Japonica will do well, as will all of the Hedychiums. I am uncertain about the Costus. With that said, I have the following from your list:Alpinia Japonica, Alpinia Purpurata Red(not on your list), Costus Green Mountain, Curcuma Cordata, Petiolata, Scarlet Fever, H Coccineum orange, Dr, Moy, Elizabeth, Palani, Raffilii, and Z. Silver Streaks.
