anyone get tiny hedychiums popping up in their garden? i found two just the other day and potted them up. im curious to see the turnout.

any species tend to self sow?

most seedlings that occur bloom a pale yellow. i found these 2 near my gracile glaucum. maybe something a little different? ill keep you posted.

how long from seedling to flowering from your experiences?

RE: reseeding hedychiums

once you have a large collection of hedychiums going, the moths tend to do a great job at pollinating them. Most are fertile so you usually end up with species and hybrids mixed, ie. no way to know what you've got. Some species like H. hasseltii tend to selfpollinate easily too. Many will bloom the next season if treated properly.
