Butterfly ginger - sun or shade?

| I know that it likes part-shade to part-sun. There's a location that I have that gets perfectly that, after the plant has gotten tall enough to be taller than the wall next to it (18"). It's really the only consistantly moist area, and it's right next to the window of the room we use the most, so I'd love to have the scent there.
do you think that this plant would be ok with mostly shade until it got tall enough, then it would be part-shade? Would it still bloom?

| Sounds like a perfect spot to me. You don't say what zone you are in but the white butterfly ginger (Hedychium Coronarium) is rated to zone 7. Some of the other hybrids are not as cold tolerant. Steve |

| I'm in zone 8a, so I should be good there. I also got these as divisions of a local GW'er here. We got too much rain today, but I guess I'm digging tomorrow. ;) |
