Shane, I grow both, in pots. The Disney is just one year old and isn't very large, but it did bloom this year. It's flowers were lined up in vertical columns on the scape, very formally, and Tara's blooms were more randomly presented. Disney bloomed from the bottom up, I believe, while Tara opened its blooms more all at once on the scape. Tara's color is more brilliant, clear orange, and Disney more of an orange/peach and a bit more subdued.

Anybody else have observations to share?

I grew Disney and Pink V in pots this year and they both have bloomed the Disney is darker orange than Pink V which is more apricot colored. Maybe I will try the Tara next year if it is even more orange than Disney!

My understanding is that Tara is among the most dependable bloomers in cool summer gardens worldwide. It is one of the only reliable bloomers here in the PNW and is a strong grower. It is likely a gardnerianum (kalihi) x coccineum hybrid and not just a coccineum, and it has light fragrance. Some report good fragrance after 10 pm on warm nights here or brought in as a cut flower. I've heard Disney is not fragrant.
