Aussie Plume will be hardy in Houston. Its hardy here and you and I have the same climate. I know, I have lived in Houston and in Galveston before. I grow all of my curcumas in full sun and we are as hot if not hotter than you here because we are landlocked and the heat and humidity settle. No sea breezes off the ship channel (heh heh) to cool it down. They will want to be well watered, but FS is best. Some of my varieties (Scarlet Fever, Aussie Plume, Inodora etc) get over 6 ft tall here.
