ginger /hedychium chrysoleucum question

Hi - I bought 2 rhizomes of this ginger. Should I plant it outside? I am in zone 8 -Texas. Or ,should I plant it in a pot and store in the garage for winter? I don't ,want it to die in our freezing temps. we have been having.
Any advice, or tips would greatly be appreciated.
