zero-waste remodel

We are doing a small facelift to our kitchen. We replaced the countertops, sink, faucet and disposal. I listed the old items we removed on freecycle and craigslist and have found homes for all of them. We thought we would have to call for a special pickup to get rid of the old items, but now there is no need. I am so glad that I decided to do it....less waste in the landfill and more people with stuff that they needed for free.

Fantastic! I LOVE freecycle! I keep hoping that the more folks use these ways of moving things through the more mainstream they will become. There is a company in California that does this sort of work too, (major home demo and resale of materials). Ah, but it is 3AM and I can't recall their name.
Congratulations to you, you get to enjoy your new kitchen and the good feeling about the future of your old kitchen, very nice!
