Window Blinds

I live in Charlotte NC
Hot Hot humid
so I thought I would
use my window blinds
on the outside of the windows
to reduce the sun on the glass
so far it has proven to make
the house cooler.
anyone have thoughts on this.

RE: Window Blinds

sounds fine, keeping the UV outside the glass is the way to reduce solar heating - same reason folks have awnings in hot climates or use reflective solar film on the glass

What happens when it's windy?

RE: Window Blinds

alfie they blow in the breeze I thought
about a tie down outside but I raise them
from inside by opening the window.I haven't
figured out how to tie them down once they
are down and close the window
This is just like you to give me a problem
to solve (LOL).

I'd be concerned that the sun would eventually rot the fabric and the threads holding the whole thing together. Would not functional wooden shutters be easier all the way around and more eco friendly?

Thank you Carol
I did not even give
that a thought.
and yes I do replace the
blinds every couple of years
for that reason.
Again thanks for opening
my eyes.

These may or may not be in your price range, but this is what is used up here.

Thanks Kioni
I will look into
this company and
see if there is something
local.
